I find it interesting how with this season we are starting to see sort of a backlash against the show. Every other article of the reviews of this season seems to be talking about this season being a disappointment when it reality its really one of the better ones of the show.
where can you watch it for free ???
its not in one night it takes time to for a frozen lake to freeze over for them to walk in it
well that's embarrassing girl that isn't Roth 42:24–42:39 haha… Go Roth!! 👍
People keep joking about the chains used to drag the dragon out of the ice. The Night King just conquered Hardhome which had ships, and I'm guessing they use those types of chains on ships.
Viseryon and the bear aren't wight's they were risen by the touch the night king uses to change the craters into walkers hence the super blue eyes
48:48 was too far off the cliff
That wasn't a servant girl at Walder Fray's….that was Walder's new wife…I got the feeling Arya had no plan to kill her. I'd call it a favor
No they didn't all have dragon glass…Longtooth, Jon's blade, is Valarian steel. Fire is the only thing that can kill a wight…just the slightest touch of flame causes them to combust. That's why Coldhand's weapon works as it does. However if you smash a wight to pieces with a giant hammer, the pieces are going to take awhile to even try to crawl after you…they can be rendered near harmless by smashing in their kneecaps…they rely on their numbers…the White Walkers die from Dragonglass or Valarian steel.
It's a Dragon wight that will breathe blue flame, I presume.
I can't believe you all think that Sansa really trusts Littlefinger, she's playing him
GRRM has said that the entire series of books is about Jon and Danny, having Jon die makes the entire story end
Also, you guys keep saying seeds of descent, I think you mean seeds of deceit?
The first face Sansa pulled out may have been the face the Waife wore when she killed Lady Crane
Hi!!! guys amazing show, one of my favorite GOT review show.
I got my own theory about the Ice Dragon and his implication with the white walkers going south of the wall. I am pretty sure the Ice Dragon would breath ice, couldn´t be otherwise "WINTER IS HERE" is the theme of the season… so the Night King would attack eastwatch on the back of v-ICE-serion breathing Ice on the ocean so they could just past the wall. It's been stated in the hardhome episode that the Night King cannot freeze salted water.
So I think after that he planned all this trap to get a dragon (somehow knowing dragons where on Westeros by some kind of greenseer habilities).
Just 2 days to see if i'm right about this.
BTW I am pretty sure that something would go wrong in KL meeting, ending up in caos, Cersei killing Tyrion and that by the breaking point between Cersei and Jaime for the season 8 Valonquar profecy.
Tin hat foil time. NO LEAKS. Sorry about my english lol
To all the people whining about Arya and Sansa, i have got some news for you, they never got along and there has always been envy and bad blood between them, rewatch season 1 and you will see, that it makes perfect sense for Arya to blame Sansa, at least it fits the characterization they have shown us
white dragon instead of ice dragon
Big difference between a ice dragon and white dragon.
I'm kind of amazed people seem to be defending the time issues and fast travel. Even the director of the episode has admitted that it was a problem in this one.
People wanting us here for another 5 season just so they can have characters travel and talk for a whole fucking episode is fucking ridiculous. I am just going to be happy with these blessing game of thrones has bestowed upon us.
Dany will get pregnant by Jon. Near the end of season 8 she will either die in childbirth and join Drogo in the afterlife, or she will give birth to twins and call the one child Drogo – the prince that was promised. I think Jon is toast regardless – he has been living on borrowed time since being resurected, another dragon is going to die at least, probably one will survive…..only death can pay for life.
Roth is so good, one of the best reviewers and critics in the Internet, she does justice when she is talking about this…
Cant believe this guy say JON should have died, the last time he died was the worst moment of the show…
fuck what's with the whole dialogue being terrible now thing? is it really that much worse than previous seasons? george rr martin isn't the only person in the world who can write good lines.
Bran & The Night King are linked psychically, it happened when the NK touched him, so it is possible that the NK knows what Bran knows & can send him him visions just like Blood Ravens did. Jon possibly has some sort of magical protection surrounding him. If you re watch the Battle of the Bastards you'll notice no arrows hit him, they landed all around him like he had a protective force field. Same when he was buried under all the bodies fighting, no blade touched him. He is protected, for now at least. He still has his part to play. Idk if the show will ever outright fully explain the magic/ fantasy elements or leave them open ended. We may never get absolute answers.
they were not expecting the dragons, what are you talking about. are you being paid by hbo?
You could say Viserion got iced
The woman with pink hair makes a lot of good points
A theory on the time frame of dragons saving the day. When dani is about to take Flight and tyrion is trying to talk her out of it, she (or he) never say they got a raven.
Isn't it a possibility that she went after Jon and company because she was just worried? Maybe In the next episode tyrion will inform Dani that she just missed the raven from gendry by a few hours to a day.
Just a thought, didn't bother me either way, but this would add some nice character info about dani getting anxious for jons well being
This episode was fan service. All logic out the window. Worst episode of the show to date
Omg Roth when you mentioned hp and the dragons connecting like wands, I yelled, "yes that's exactly what I imagined" lol
It's reflecting the snow vs. reflecting the glove……
When Michele Boyd starting referencing Warcraft lore, Im not gonna lie…she became even more attractive….
For those of us who are Brandon Sanderson fans, Jon and Berik could be something akin to a Returned. What if he does have kids, would they be more Invested by the powers that brought Jon back to life? Kids with the potential to be even more powerful wargs/seers.
Arya was playing the game of faces in the room scene, and thus everything she was saying were convincing lies. turning the dagger hilt to Sansa showed her and US that Sansa lost the game because she believed Arya would harm her pack, when she said the scene before she would rather die than betray her family, and sansa is her family.
The whole scene with the 7 beyond the wall could have been so more believable and much better if. . .
1 – just show Barn warging something to check on Jon and crew
2- Bran wargs one of the dragons and flys to Jon
3- Daenerys hops on Drogon to find out where he is off to
4- Battle ensues
5 – Rhaegal grabs Jon after he comes out of lake
My issue with some of the folks who disliked this episode have been shaming and harassing folks who post anything positive about this episode or season. Y'all don't have to like the show and y'all can trash it on your own time, but don't try to ruin other people''s enjoyment of the show by harassing them for liking this episode or this season.
This panel is weak.
OMG Internet, enough with these stupid theories!! I get that is fun to read into things and try to guess what is going to happen, but that thing about Jon being a servant of the Night King is just nonsense. There are literally hundreds of better, well rounded theories about why he came back to life, why waste time on the most stupid ones!!! #NerdRage
I like Game of Theories theory: Bran is actually able to time travel and he goes back to prevent the night king but he actually ends up BECOMING THE NIGHT KING. And still is to this day.
Here are som Major Plotholes in this episode:
Plothole 1
Seasons ago it was mentioned that the people who turn into ice-zombies (wights) can only be killed by fire, not dragon glass. As we saw when Jon saved commander Mormont. Later we learn that dragon glass only kills White Walkers when Sam managed to kill one.
Why then are they now able to kill wights with regular weapons and dragon glass? Why didn't they bring fire arrows with them or torches they could ignite when time for battle. No answer. Because the show didn't follow the flow of logic and events that were established by the story's narrative earlier.
Plothole 2
Why were the wights able to walk on the ice en masse the second time it refroze without any problems but fell through it the first time?
Some bozos come with the lame excuse that the WW bring the cold with them so that's why the lake refroze quicker and stronger, so that's why duh.
Ok, then why didn't the Night King froze the water before at Hardhome. Or why doesn't he freeze the sea so he can bypass the freaking Wall? No answer. Because the show didn't follow the flow of logic and events that were established by the story's narrative earlier.
Plothole 3
People who get killed by a wight (human, animal) also turn into a wight. When one of their wildling scouts got killed by the Polar bear, why didn't they just wait as he turned and bring him back as evidence?
Why risk your life going further North to look out for danger. No explanation and no common sense here. Because there isn't any. They needed to have an awesome ice-zombie battle at the end that's why.
Plothole 4
At the beginning of the episode, we learn that Gendry has never been to the North and has never seen ice before. Jon also tells Tormund that Gendry appears to be a good fighter and therefore a great asset to the group.
Why the hell then did Jon then sent him back to the wall to ask for help because he's the fastest? while he's in unfamiliar territory? And without fuckin Weapon? Why the fuck does Tormund tell him to leave his hammer behind and not giving him another weapon? How did the freak did he know his way back to Eastwatch? No mention of following some tracks they left behind, nothing.
No logical answer because the show didn't follow the flow of logic and events that were established by the story's narrative earlier. D&D needed Gendry as a simple plot device that' the only answer.
Barric's severed shoulder reattached instantly when Thoros brought him back. Jon still has all those open wounds from months before. He may be more undead than alive. The thought had come to me watching that Arya may be Little Finger, and she was sending Brienne away because brienne may interfere with her testing Sansa.
Serving wine to someone to gain intelligence for the future when you have a kill list pales in comparison to betraying your house and trying to get your brother killed. Sansa can't, and shouldn't be defended. You guys don't like Arya but like Sansa. Wow…
Good theory, Starks are ice, Targaryans are fire and the night king is a Stark. Jon his half ice half fire.
Get over it! Westerosi marry cousins, aunts/uncles, though they bulk at sibs, & Targs have married siblings. Tywin married his cousin Joanna Lannister, LF was going to marry Sansa to her cousin Sweet Robin (which may still happen), & The Stark kids Grandfather married his niece 4 example, so Dany being Jon's Aunt is a non issue. They are going to hook up, probably on the boat, she will get pregnant (either by always being fertile, or because Viserion's death will pay for her baby's life). Bran will tell Jon who is mother was and by default, who his father must be & Sam will tell him that he's not a bastard (once he recalls Gilly's words, LOL). The note is from Dany/Jon via Tyrion to get as many people to the armistice to see the wight so that all the Lords of Westeros will see the danger and provide men, despite what Cersei does. I completely disagree with you all. As soon as LF suggested she use Brienne against Arya, Sansa used the first opportunity to get rid of Brienne, while still showing face at the armistice, which foils LF's plan to use Brienne. I think Sansa is playing LF and Arya is playing with Sansa, but doesn't plan to actually hurt her. Sansa's the one who threatens Arya by saying she has loyal soldiers all around.
I did not bother that the magic chains appeared and i think there is 2 possible ways for it to work:
1. The Night king was planning for it and brought it from Harehome
2. The time between Jon riding away and the dragon beeing dragged up is not clear. The dead could very well have walked up to Hardhome after the battle. This would explain why the dead will not reach the wall for a long time and the plots down south can play out on its own
For those guys (in this comment section) who just want to hate on every single little details..enjoy your hate. hahaha. Keep complaining. Im sure some people cares. Poor you having a bad time not satisfied because it is not exactly as you would wish or as perfect as you would want it.. 🙂 Continue on. Seriously. Own the hate. Those who enjoyed the show is having a blast. We are good. Bye.
The aunt nephew thing is a nothingburger, stop bringing it up like it matters, Tywin married his cousin, Alys Karstark was engaged to her uncle, this level of separation is perfectly acceptable for the rest of Westeros, not just Targaryens. Marrying brother to sister or child to parent is what's taboo.
Arya could have just had a random girl's face and then dressed up like a servant girl. I don't think she killed one of frey's servants.
Sundays episode called dragon and the wolf… Think we're getting a flashback
