Game of Thrones Season 7 New Melisandre Picture and Her Future Role Theory

I hope Arya doesn't kill her after she learns Gendry is still alive. They're both in my top 10 favorite characters. I don't want Arya to turn too dark, and I do want to see a whole lot more of Melisandre in the bathtub.

she mentioned that she also auditioned for Cersei. I have to admit, she'd have made a very good Cersei. But, on the other hand I can't imagine anybody could have played Mellisandre better except maybe, the woman that plays Kinvara (Ania Bukstein). Ania would make a pretty poor Cersei though. I have to say, except for Catelyn (Michelle Fairley) and a few others, the casting directors are generally very spot-on with their choices, most of the characters could not possibly be better cast. But Michelle Fairley is not somebody you can imagine Littlefinger falling head over heels for…she's attractive enough maybe, but there's seemingly nothing about her *looks, charm, interesting etc.) that would make somebody like Littlefinger fall for her.

I love the idea of Melisandre 'disguised' as an old woman; that's a great call. Maybe she accompanies Arya to Winterfell in the guise of a helpless old lady. I hope Davos gets to see and recognise her in true form before she dies, just to see the look on his face, but the only certainty is that she will meet Arya again.

Mellissande is no doubt a complex person, capable of doing some important abilities. Yes, she has been thrown "off her game" with the death of Stanis. But I suspect she has lots of skills with which to surprise — or fool — us.

Not that I think this will actually happen, but it would be interesting to see Mel meet with the Brotherhood @ High Heart where she'll encounter the ghost, Thoros and Arya. The ghost will convince her to return to Winterfell as the crone. I'd love to see Mel and the Ghost of High Heart together!

I do not think that Arya will kill Melissandre, but will meet up with her again.

I doubt it is the necklace that makes her younger or even any other magic item, I think it is some of her special magic that isn't related to any equipment

After we saw Mel for the crone she is, I rewatched the scene in question with Selyse, when she is in the tub. It is my opinion that Selyse was allowed to see her in her true form, being a true believer. The shock and embarrassment that Selyse is portraying could be because she is seeing an old woman in place of the young beauty.
