  1. People seem to keep forgetting that it is the Iron Bank of BRAVOS. It is perfectly reasonable that they would fund a behind the scenes, faceless men plot to make sure things go the way they want them to in order to recover the debts. This could easily include the entire sub plot of Arya's. They may be putting their bet on House Stark to stabilize the region, and to help create the conditions for them to recover their funds. Littlefinger is likely just a pawn they are using to accomplish that goal.

We need to assume they are very intelligent, and very informed. They must know by now the white walkers are awake, and something about how dangerous that could be to the entire region, and perhaps the world. So it makes no difference if they don't stop that threat as a primary consideration.

They also know that gold doesn't generally vanish into thin air, and so the gold they lent still exists. So they will want to get it back from the pockets of those who have it. They will do this by stabilizing the area and creating an economy that will favor the repayment of those debts.

However, this is a GRRM story, and of course, he is very interested in medieval history. The Medici bank went bankrupt during just such a situation, so perhaps, so shall the Iron Bank. I am dubious though, as he seems consistently to characterize Bravos as a sort of democratic enclave, living life freely, and so as an example. I am not sure he would allow Bravos to fall into ruin.

So, I think it is all up in the air as to what will happen.

  2. I can imagine the Iron Bank looking at Littlefinger and thinking, "He seems like the kind of man we could do business with".

Daeneryis – maybe not so much. After all the last guy who tried to do business with her, ended up getting toasted by her dragons when she betrayed the deal.

  3. Cersei is ruthless and doesn't think thru consequences. She may be stupid enough to execute Tycho Nestoris, don't you think? If Mark Gatiss' last scene was with the Mountain or Qyburn, that would have been a dead giveaway.
