The final scene from Game of Thrones Season 7 episode 6 “Beyond the Wall” has caused a lot of confusion. The Night King raised the dead Viserion and his eyes turned blue.

What does this mean? What kind of Dragon is Viserion? Is he a Wight Dragon? A White Walker Dragon? An Ice Dragon?

We have not been told exactly what has become of Viserion but in this video I explain what I think has happened to the dead Dragon using theories, explanations, older scenes and foreshadowing.

  1. I know people have questioned if the Scorpion that shot Drogon could have possibly been poisoned. I think IF they did poison him Cersei will let Dany know when they meet in the next episode. That would be a horrible blow to Dany. I hate the thought of him possibly being poisoned. If we make it thru the next episode and nothing by Cersei or Qyburn is revealed then I think it would be safe to say that he is in the clear. 😅

  2. But he'll decay I think he's a WW DRAGON… May be he didn't die but was dying and I don't think it'll make sense to have a decaying dragon and the fact that he touched him … and I don't know if it works the same for animals

  3. The NK DID NOT walk through Dragonfire. Once the fire from the Dragon ignites something it becomes Regular Fire. If the NK walked through a direct flame from the dragon then you could say that but HE HAS NOT done so!

  4. Great video. I think he is closer to a White Walker than a Wight. Simply because The Night King touched him directly, like with the baby. Although your theory in the video makes a lot of sense too.

  5. Why are we worried about piercing it's scales? As far as we know all human wights, horse wights and even the polar bear have decomposing bodies. So doesn't that mean Viserion will decompose down to bones? We even saw how hound tried to shut that screaming wight and his leftover skin just feel off. They are fragile and brittle. It will be stupid if they show Viserion scales as strong as living dragon.

  6. Great vid 😉 I dont want drogon or rhaegal to kill viserion, that would be too easy. I want to see the heroes kill him together but at a great cost. Like it would be cooler to see viserion take like 10 dragonglass bolts, dragon flame and a valyrian steel spear rather than seeing a single bolt through the eye.

  7. I think it was simply the fact that Viserion was a dragon of immense size that the Night King had to lay his hand upon him to raise him. he is so used to raising humans that a simple lift of his hands will allow him to raise thousands. beasts and giants, we don't know about but he can raise then with ease. dragons on the other hand?

I agree he's a white and they have to be completely destroyed, hit with dragon glass or valyrian steel, set on fire or their white walker necromancer killed to kill them. i think in Viserion's case he can in theory be killed by all of these except fire, but i think the way it will work out is that the other two dragons' fire will weaken the night king's control of Viserion which will allow Brain to Warg into him and control him to use against the white walkers.

  8. What if Viserion wasn't completely dead yet? He was hit and did bleed out a lot, but he fell into the icy water, it's possible the water slowed down his death, meaning he could be a White Walker….

  9. I think he is a wight dragon. I also believe he will breath a blue flame. If I remember right… blue flame is actually hotter than a yellow or orange flame. I do not think Dani will be able to withstand that type of fire. I think that is what GRRM was referencing when he said something about Dani might not be able to survive all types of fires at all times. (I can't remember his exact words)
Do you think the fate of the dragons are going to be similar to the fate of who they were named after? When Viserys died, Dani said, "he was no dragon. Fire can not kill a dragon." (Dragon of course referring to herself and other Targaryens) As we all watched in horror, Viserion was harpooned in his fire bladder and burst into flames as he plummeted to the ground. Not saying that the fire killed him but the similarities is there. Drogo died after receiving a wound to his chest. Drogon shot in his shoulder area. BUT… I had a horrible thought and it was right up GRRM alley… Drogo actually died by Dani smothering him to put him to rest. Will we see Drogon wounded from an epic battle, in pain and suffering, and Dani will have to use the scorpion to put him out of his misery? How absolutely bittersweet it would be and tragically sad to have that happen. Please, I hope I am wrong. I would much rather see him die straight out in battle. Not from Dani's hands. 😭😭😭😭

  10. I dont think that Viserion will die.
I think that Viserion will be controlled by Bran or Jon Snow, because Daenerys is the fire and Jon Snow the Ice. And 3:55 isn't that horn capable of controlling dragons? Sam has that horn somewhere.

  11. That is still a guess that kill the WW that turned the wights and then they will die. How would Beric know. Right before he said about how a WW turned the search party. So what is it? Kill one WW to kill the ones he turned or the NK to kill them all. Because if the WW turning wight is true the NK would have not turned them so would still be alive when the NK dies.

  12. Excellent theories, sir! It can't be too easy to kill Viserion, because what would be the point? If only Dany has capable dragons and dragon fire kills the wights, game over, right? It has to be more of a contest.
Viserion was completely dead, we are assuming, so your logic is well applied. It is, fortunately, one of the few real questions left to us this year so far, and I am enjoying the re-engagement of the audience to the story.

  13. Lucky for us Drogon/ Rhaegal will be bigger next season because they are alive. Viserion is dead and as a wight he will breathe fire but (PLOTHOLE) when Viserion was killed he exploded! All his blood & guts came out so how can he breathe ANY kind of flame? He has a gaping hole in his side, wights DON"T heal because they are dead! Also, he fell hard and wing bones are delicate!

  14. I have a bit of a cold so I am sorry if I don't sound as good as usual

This is just my on opinion and Viserion might turn out to be a White Walker Dragon. If this does happen then I hope the show explains it to us. Viserion was killed so that is what I am basing this video on.

Also vote in the poll. Undead Viserion vs. Drogon! Who wins?

Thanks for watching and I will see you in the comments.
