Those Game of Thrones fans are at it again, with their eagle-eyes and imaginations running wild, as a new theory surrounding Arya Stark has got the show’s loyal fan base in meltdown.
As speculation surrounding season eight – the final chapter from Game of Thrones – does absolutely nothing to slow down, fans believe they’ve worked out what is potentially a terrifying plot for the young rascal and the entire Stark family.
Reddit user Gpengo began: ‘Noticed something interesting about Arya: In season one when she tried to get back into King’s Landing, the guards thought she was just a beggar. Then in season seven, when she was trying to get back into Winterfell, the guards didn’t believe that she was who she said she was.’
They elaborated: ‘She sent away Nymeria in order to protect her. Could it be that by separating from her wolf she lost her identity also?
‘Same thing happens to Bran as his wolf was killed and he became the Three Eyed Raven.
‘Robb’s wolf is killed and Robb was dead.
‘Rickon’s wolf was killed and afterwards Rickon was dead.
‘Jon is still alive and Ghost too. The only one that doesn’t fit the pattern is Sansa.’
Fueling the fire, Sethwilkins45 added: ‘That guard that stops her in Winterfell in season seven actually appears in season one… as a guard in Winterfell.’
Food for thought, no? Well, we’ve still got what looks like an agonising eight months to go until we get any answers whatsoever, so for now, hold tight guys.
The latest theory comes weeks after the cast wrapped up filming on the beloved fantasy epic, with Arya star Maisie Williams sharing an Instagram of her bloodied trainers, which was as lovely as you can imagine.
While the secrets of season eight remain under wraps, HBO boss Casey Bloys recently debunked reports that the final six episodes will be eight episodes long and confirmed that Game of Thrones will return in the first half of 2019.
Traditionally, Game of Thrones has kicked off in either March or April, so make of that what you will.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019.
