In harrowing news for fans, Kit Harington has said that the Game of Thrones cast were left “broken” by the final season.
“The last season of Thrones seemed to be designed to break us,” he told GQ.
“Everyone was broken at the end,” he continued. “I don’t know if we were crying because we were sad it was ending or if we were crying because it was so f**king tiring.

“We were sleep deprived. It was like it was designed to make you think, ‘Right, I’m f**king sick of this’. I remember everyone walking around towards the end going, ‘I’ve had enough now. I love this, it’s been the best thing in my life, I’ll miss it one day – but I’m done.'”
HBO’s boss has also teased what to expect from the final season of Thrones, admitting that he was “in awe” while watching the “spectacular” last episodes.
The long-running series will draw to a close this year with six final episodes, and the channel’s CEO Richard Plepler has promised that they are each like movies.
“It’s a spectacle,” he told Variety. “The guys have done six movies. The reaction I had while watching them was, ‘I’m watching a movie.'”
Game of Thrones season 8 will premiere in April 2019. The show airs on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK. Season 7 is now available to buy on DVD, Blu-ray or digital download.
