The numbers are in, and Game of Thrones: The Complete Eighth Season on DVD and Blu-ray sits atop the NPD VideoScan First Alert chart for the week ending December 7, reports Media Play News. The chart tracks DVD and Blu-ray sales combined, as well as sales for Blu-rays only.

Blu-rays accounted for 53% of sales for Game of Thrones: The Complete Eighth Season, with 10% of sales coming from the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. DVD sales rounded out the rest. What, does no one buy VHS anymore?

According to the site, it’s a “rarity” for a television show to gain the top spot on the sales chart, especially since we live in the age of streaming. Plus, season 8 received a lot of blowback online. I’m sure HBO is pleased that the numbers are strong regardless.

The home video release of Angel Has Fallen, about an assassination attempt on the president of the United States, came in second to Game of Thrones: The Complete Eighth Season. I guess both are about politics…?

So, if you’ve yet to get your copy, then get out there before the shelves are picked clean.
