However, could the Mother of Dragons (played by Emilia Clarke) defeat the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) with the help of new dragons?

Even though she only has two dragons at the moment, there are many more eggs across the Seven Kingdoms that could potentially hatch and be used to form an army to take on the White Walkers.

In Game of Thrones it’s said that magic left the world the day the last dragon died, but it looks like supernatural elements and powers have definitely returned to Westeros.

George R.R. Martin even drops a hint that all the dragons could return to Westeros one day in his novellas the Tales of Dunk and Egg.

Aegon V Targaryen tells his friend and knight Ser Duncan the Tall: “Someday the dragons will return. My brother Daeron’s dreamed of it, and King Aerys read it in a prophecy. Maybe it will be my egg that hatches. That would be splendid.”

Although it would take time for the dragons to grow, the epic battle between Ice and Fire is likely to rage on for some time and will not come to an end straight away.

In fact, it could take years for the war to be won by Daenerys and her allies, especially since they have a Viserion on their side.

Season seven concluded with the White Walkers and the Night King breaching the Wall as Daenerys and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) headed North to fight their undead enemy.

Production is underway on seasons eight in Belfast and there have already been hints that there will be a big meeting between Daenerys and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) when she finally reaches the North.

There have also been suggestions of a pivotal scene in the final season after some people spotted a new castle set getting built in Northern Ireland.

The location is where most of Westeros’ scenes are shot and now new photos for the production studio show a huge new building being built.

Los Siete Reinos has published pictures of it being constructed with the structure rivalling the size of Winterfell.

A stronghold this big has only ever been built as part of a battle sequence or as a permanent location.

Game of Thrones season 8 is expected to return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019.
