Although production has started on season eight, stars of the show have dropped hints that it may take a while.
Ser Jorah star Iain Glen has now told crowds at Comic-Con Stockholm that the first read through will be happening on October 9.
The 56-year-old went on to explain why the final season’s shoot may take longer than all the others.
Iain confessed: “We’re all starting to occupy the same territory.
“We’re all starting to be in the same storylines and so they can’t [have two filming units] anymore.
“I think this last season will take much longer to shoot because they can only use one unit, because we’re all in the same sort of scenes.”
This comes as John Bradley West, who plays loveable Samwell Tarly, revealed that the incoming episodes will be “monumental”.
The 29-year-old announced that fan-favourite directors, Miguel Sapochnik and David Nutter, will be returning for the final series.
He told Huffington Post: “Miguel and David have done some of the standout episodes of previous seasons.
“Clearly every single episode of the six you’ve got left in season eight is going to be monumental and needs somebody at the helm who’s done that kind of high-stakes, high-octane direction before for us.”
Game of Thrones season eight is expected to return to screens in 2019.
