Game of Thrones‘ final season feels like a long time ago now (for better or worse), but ahead of its release on DVD and Blu-ray, the series is sharing key deleted scenes with fans.

One scene in particular that has been resurrected from the cutting room floor is a moment between Sansa Stark and Tyrion Lannister from the season eight episode ‘The Long Night‘, in which Winterfell is besieged by the Night King and his army of wights.

In the final cut, Sansa and Tyrion spent much of the episode hiding in the crypt alongside others who were unable to fight, a relative sanctuary from the bloodshed above – until the Night King resurrected the dead.

The pair stayed out of harm’s way as several survivors were slaughtered around them, but a knowing look between Sansa and Tyrion suggested they were prepared to go down fighting if they had to.

This deleted scene – shared exclusively by Entertainment Weekly – shows exactly that. In the clip, Missandei, Gilly, and baby Sam try to stay silent as the undead pass by in the crypt. When baby Sam lets out a cry (and who can blame him?), the three are soon cornered by two wights.

The footage, which is clearly a rough cut without sound or visual effects, concludes with our two heroes Sansa and Tyrion stabbing the wights from behind with Arya’s dragonglass dagger.

And we’re sure there’ll be plenty more where that came from when Game of Thrones: The Complete Series is released on DVD and Blu-ray in a matter of days. Winter is coming, after all.

Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available to pre-order on DVD and Blu-ray now.
