Warning: Article contains spoilers for Game Of Thrones season 8
Game Of Thrones has unveiled new images from episode five – the penultimate episode! – of season eight as the show hurtles towards its finale.
Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is preparing to do battle against Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), and along with Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Davos (Liam Cunningham) they survey the strength of Cersei’s forces.
We also have another look at the Golden Company headed up by Harry Strickland. Hopefully Cersei has palmed them off with enough gold to ensure they stay on her side.
The current queen has a lot more numbers than they bargained for, so they have an uphill struggle against her their forces are pretty much equally matched.
And Cersei seems to know it too, as a further image shows the scheming Lannister lady smirking into the middle distance, as what appears to be The Mountain lurks behind her.
Meanwhile Daenerys is still reeling from the death of Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) in the last episode when she was executed on Cersei’s orders, ripped from her lover Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson).
And Grey Worm also appears looking devastated but formal as he seemingly stands in the same room as Dany.
The Mother of Dragons is also grief-stricken at the death of her close friend, and looks distant as Tyrion tries to talk to her.
But judging from his pained expression in another image, he might not be getting through to her. Is she simply just distracted over losing Missandei, or is there more going on?
She may have something to smile about if a recent fan theory about her dragons proves to be true.
Despite two of her dragons being killed, viewers feel her remaining beast Drogon might be female and may have had babies.
In fact the season eight theme tune may have hinted as much, as four dragons – one large and three small – appear on one of the moving rings in the title sequence.
Game Of Thrones continues Monday at 2am and 9pm on Sky Atlantic. Seasons 1-7 are available on NOW TV.
