Game of Thrones Season 8 is currently filming, and it has been on it for a while now. We know that the show has quite a bit of filming left, likely to continue till summer this year. We have had a few major developments recently from the filming locations, and now it seems like the filming on the Winterfell set at Moneyglass might be nearing its end. Read on!
Moving forth, SPOILER ALERT! This post has minor spoilers about Game of Thrones Season 8. Proceed at your own risk!
Now, as we had recently reported, the Winterfell set has been having a ball lately. To start off, it first filmed a big battle sequence, at the end of which the whole set was burned down. We thought that would be the end of it, but a few days later we had reports of continued filming on the set, with a lot of corpses laid around it. A new report by Game of Thrones informant, Irish Thrones, now say the filming on the set will get over quite soon:
Moneyglass (Winterfell) is largely coming to an end, w/scenes mostly finishing nxt wk. At this Irish locale theres been major players such as the Night King, Rory McCann (The Hound) & Kit Harington (Jon Snow) Nxt wk filming will largely shift to Magheramorne Quarry.

This information also clears up another thing: the attack on Winterfell is much more likely to be by the Night King and not Cersei, more so now that the actor has been spotted on the set.
So what’s next? We recently talked about how the production has set up a brand new set with the biggest green screen the show has ever used, near Magheramorne Quarry. There’s a good chance the filming will move there, and we are yet to know what purpose this set will have, but more on that as it develops.
What do you think? Will Winterfell survive the Season 8 attacks? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
