Turns out Bran Stark isn’t The Night King in Game of Thrones after all. But is he the target? (Picture: HBO)

We’re speeding toward the finale of Game Of Thrones for good, but that’s not stopped us worrying about our favourite characters.

If anything, we’re getting more and more anxiety as our protagonists come way too close to the White Walkers and the Night King as he wages war on Westeros.

With Bran Stark currently taking the place of the Three-Eyed Raven, after old mate Night King killed the last one, we’ve come to worry over whether or not the lad will survive this season.

You see, we’ve been flitting between the notion Bran may be the Night King, having warged into him and not been able to escape, and not to the point where we don’t know what’s going on anymore.

However, after speaking with Watchers On The Wall’s Deputy Editor Luka Nieto it’s been stressed Bran’s place in GOT’s final season is much more important.

‘If you have watched the premiere I’m not telling you anything you don’t know, but Bran will play a large role in the war against the White Walkers and their army of the dead,’ Luka told Metro.co.uk following last week’s premiere episode.

But he also hinted Bran may be in the crosshairs of the Night King.

While some of us thought perhaps Daenerys Targaryen was the intended target of the king, be it for marriage or to kill, we may have been wrong.

‘The Night King specifically sought out Bran and killed the previous Three-Eyed Raven at the cave north of the Wall in season six, which means he’ll probably want to get rid of the new Three-Eyed Raven,’ Luka continued.

‘It appears the Night King sees Bran as the first threat he must get rid of before moving further south.’

Well, that is…worrying.

There is absolutely no way they can leave us with the Night King being victorious over the mainland let alone our mate Bran.

All will be revealed in only five more episodes, guys. And with the second episode, due to hit screens in the US very early this morning, and the UK on Monday night, already having been leaked online guess we may find out sooner rather than later.

Game of Thrones continues on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
