In roughly four months time, what is thought by many to be these greatest television show of all time will come to what fans hope is an epic conclusion. The last two seasons have given viewers some of the most entertaining battles every seen on screen, with Jon Snow leading an Army against Ramsay Bolton in The Battle Of Bastards and the Season 7 battle that pitted the Lannister army against Daenerys Targaryen’s Dothraki and Unsullied armies, as well as one of her dragons.

James Hibberd, co-host of the EW‘s Game of Thrones Podcast is one of the lucky people to have been on the Season 8 set, that isn’t a member of the cast or crew. Hibberd says Season 8 will give fans what is perhaps the longest battle ever seen as far as screen time, check out what he had to say below.

“But the battle is the big sexy thing…It’s shaping up to be what probably almost certainly is the longest consecutive battle sequence in cinema history. They’ve looked to try and find other ones out there, like [the one in] The Two Towers, in The Lords of the Rings, which is about 40 minutes, and in the movie 13 Assassins, which was also around 40 minutes. This is going to be longer than 40 minutes. It’s pretty nuts.”

I remember hearing about a battle that took the cast and crew 55 days to shoot, and to be honest I expected nothing less from the show, they have found a way to out do themselves every season. In just a few short months fans will know who emerged victorious and will be the new ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. While no one but Jon Snow, Daenerys and Tyrion have been “safe” from being killed off, during the final season all bets are off, and it possible that no one survives.
