Game of Thrones season 8 which was the finale of the iconic show was not well received by the audience and critics. For the unversed, after many deaths and banishments over the seasons so far, Isaac Hempstead Wright, who played the role of Bran Stark aka The Three-Eyed Raven later became the King of the six kingdoms and was dubbed as Bran the Broken. Many didn’t like Bran getting the kingslanding. However, the actor said that the choice was by the creator of the book series, George R. R. Martin.
Wright said about the same in an interview which was added in HBO’s Making of Game of Thrones. He said,”[Show ceators] David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss] told me there were two things George R.R. Martin had planned for Bran, and that was the Hodor revelation, and that he would be king.”
He added, “So that’s pretty special to be directly involved in something that is part of George’s vision. It was a really nice way to wrap it up.” The author is currently working on two books “The Winds of Winter” and “A Dream of Spring” and has said that the endings of the books can be different from the show. Martin said, “How will it all end? I hear people asking. The same ending as the show? Different? Well… yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes.”
He is also aware of the criticism that the last season received and Martin commented on the same and said that his fans should read the books as well and then they can argue about it on the internet. What are your views on the same? Let us know in the comment section below.
