I'm trying to avoid certain channels for spoilers right now, but I'm all about theories! That said, I have hoped that Asha/Yara would lead the Alliance of the Reasonable to get the IB to embrace a new, sustainable culture (and sowing) in book and show, but perhaps Theon survives it all, after all. I think his bastard was made prominent in the book for a reason, and perhaps he will lead the Iron Islands in the end.
This may be one of those story lines where the show completely differs from the books in the end, too.
It's definitely possible for him to have bastards….Theon does love whores.
