The Game of Thrones season eight cast list has been accidentally leaked by HBO and there’s a vital player missing from episode one.
Last week the broadcaster unveiled which heroes would be popping up on April 14 as Westeros (hopefully) pulls together to fight The Night King.
Well, they can hold tight for a little longer because Vladimir Furdik, who stars as the ghostly leader of the white walkers, is absent from the season eight premiere – but don’t get too comfortable.
It’s been almost two years since the season seven finale and with just six episodes to go there will be plenty of bloodshed with or without The Night King.
But considering season seven closed with the army of the dead parading to the Wall and blasting it down with their new pet dragon, it’s more than surprising to learn The Night King won’t be featuring at all.
Speaking to Hungarian website Sorozat Wiki, he revealed: ‘In the third part of the last season, there is a battle that the creators intend to be the biggest in television history.
‘Almost the full episode will be about the battle, it will take about an hour.’
The Game of Thrones cast list – which has since been deleted – also revealed the return of two unexpected faces, which have struck a chord with fans – Tobias Menzies, who’s about to star as Prince Philip in The Crown, as Edmure Tully and Lino Facioli as Robin Arryn.
The leak comes after Entertainment Weekly were jammy enough to watch filming a key scene in Game of Thrones, and confirmed there were some surprising old names in the mix.
‘There are characters in the finale that I did not expect,’ he noted. ‘I gradually begin to piece together what has happened in Westeros over the previous five episodes and try not to look like I’m freaking out.’
