The Game of Thrones season seven finale saw the current ruler of the Iron Throne promise Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) that she’ll be joining forces with her enemies to bring down the White Walkers.
Unbeknown to them, she already made a pact with Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) and the Golden Company to kill off whoever survives the battle against The Night King.
“I think her lie will be very shocking,” Headey warned in the latest issue of TV & Satellite Week. “Cersei is such a b***h.”
However, Cersei could be in with a huge shock herself as it seems she made a big mistake when she sent Euron to pick up a group of sellswords called The Golden Company.
Cersei may be surprised to find out that the Golden Company are already fighting for Jon, whose real name is actually Aegon Targaryen.
In the novels by George R.R. Martin, the Golden Company are largely descended from exiled knights who fought on the wrong side of a battle called the Blackfyre Rebellion.
Sadly, fans may have to wait for another two years to see how Cerise’s journey plays out as it’s believed Game of Thrones season 8 won’t be released until 2019.
HBO is said to be planning an extended production window for the final season, with filming slated to begin in October and possibly run as late as August 2018.
The broadcaster has not commented on the rumours, but president Casey Bloys said: “Our production people are trying to figure out a timeline for the shoot and how much time the special effects take.
Game of Thrones season 8 release date news: When will it start, how will it end?
“The shooting is complicated enough — on different continents, with all the technical aspects — and the special effects are a whole other production period that we’re trying to figure out. That is a big factor in all of this.”
