  1. Maybe Ned paid the Faceless men to train Arya. He's already shown that he was willing to pay one guy from Braavos to teach her to fight. Or maybe they picked Arya because they saw her desire for revenge and decided to use her. Or maybe just to remove her need for vengeance.

  2. Oh, you were banned? Youtube is getting really bad for that lately. It's all automated. I have no idea how it picked up all of Johnny's F-bombs. Cus I've yet to see voice recognition software that can cope with an Irish accent. Can't blame Johnny! ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. I agree with you Kyle about one of Jaime and Brienne surviving. I'm pretty sure it will be Brienne when she writes his good deeds in the book of brothers. Agree with you on everything apart from Theon, he has to die saving Yara as he should have done previously.

  4. My goodness, Kyle, you're like a kid who just got to open his Christmas prezzies. I'm happy too–I've checked almost every day since your last post. And I'm up for your panel at the Con here, especially if it's about Arya as I'm sort of an Aryologist. And you + George + GEMMA = GoT/ASoIaF bliss. Her grounding in the books is invaluable even though D&D are on their own tangent.

Speaking of my fave Stark, you guys speculating on the FM was super interesting. Heck, yeah the Iron Bank is involved, probably concerning Cersei, but maybe also potential embezzlement by Littlefinger while Master of Coin. The IB is as disinterested in Westerosi politics as Vladimir Putin was in the 2016 election–NOT! Certainly, a Zombified Westeros is not good for their business, and the spread of the dead who are not DEAD could be tricksy for the Many-Faced God's business. The talented STARK and her List can be at the nexus of both efforts. Even if Jaqen was just on assignment, he found the Girl to further their agenda. The Iron Coin that brought her to Braavos was probably the best he ever spent. Jaqen had his eye on her from his cage (much earlier IMO), and not just cuz she was masquerading as a boy. He was like the chief recruiter for the Cowboys who just drove past a Pee Wee football game and found an almost Roger Staubach. Prolly what sealed the deal is HER saving HIS life–it must be unusual in FM history. Maybe that got her the free education at FM University even if there is NO hidden agenda.

One other thing. Yes, Miltos and a few others speculate the FM may go after her once they've used her. It's a possibility, and they could succeed. But a Girl has no honor but does have many gifts…plus some Stark magic. That Girl seemingly outwitted Jaqen twice, once with the naming/un-naming ploy, once with the Needlepoint-against-the-chest ploy. Mind, I think he's genuinely fond of her and hopes NO harm comes to her. Much of her personalized training seemed designed to enhance her safety and judgment. Which is timely–Season 8 isn't just Cleganebowl time, it's the Superbowl of Westeros time as well.

  5. I think the Night King is tied to the magic also. Do you think by any chance that his return could be tied to the fact that the magic was nearly completely gone at the time he started causing chaos again north of the wall? I was thinking (hoping) that at the end of the show we will see that the magic is needed in the world to keep the White Walkers at bay or even gone from their world. The Targaryens were nearly killed out at the beginning of the show. The Night King seems to have gained strength while they were being diminished and the dragons were killed off during the dance. The return of the Targaryens and the dragons birth seems to be bringing the magic back into the world. Man still has not remembered all of their magic yet which is why I think the NK was after the 3ER so he could not pass the knowledge off to Bran. โ€œTo get back what you have lostโ€ I think referred to multiple things but also in all mankind. The powers of greensight and warging and whatever else the people use to be capable of is a forgotten knowledge/power.
