Game Of Thrones fans watched Maisie Williams’ Arya Stark slay the Night King in season eight episode three’s The Long Hour.

There were lots of unanswered questions about how the young warrior managed to take down the biggest baddie in Westeros, but now we finally have some closure and it’s all thanks to two-hour documentary The Last Watch.

Besides showing us Kit Harington’s reaction to his final moments with Emilia Clarke, the behind-the-scenes footage showed the first table read for the installment revealing how Arya brought the villain, played by Vladimir Furdik, to meet his maker.

Scriptwriter Bryan Cogman excitedly read out the incredible scenes to the cast and crew, exclaiming: ‘She vaults off a pile of dead Wights, leaps at the Night King and she plunges the dagger through the Night King’s armour and the Night King shatters.’

Arya’s triumph was met by cheers and applause from the actors, with Kit gasping at the revelation.

Meanwhile, Emilia Clarke and Sophie Turner were seen clapping.

Despite Arya’s stellar victory in the season eight finale HBO programming president, Casey Bloys, has ruled out any hopes for a spin-off based on her character, explaining that the network doesn’t want to pursue any shows connected to characters from Game Of Thrones.

‘Nope, nope, nope. No,’ he said about the possibility of Arya getting her own show.

‘Part of it is, I do want this show – this Game Of Thrones, Dan and David’s show – to be its own thing.’

He continued to The Hollywood Reporter: ‘I don’t want to take characters from this world that they did beautifully and put them off into another world with someone else creating it.

‘I want it to let it be the artistic piece they’ve got. That’s one of the reasons why I’m not trying to do the same show over.’

Game Of Thrones is available to stream on NOW TV.
