We’re scared for Jon Snow after Sophie Turner’s latest bombshell

We’ve still got well over a year before Game of Thrones returns to screens and we’re already crawling the walls, but while the cast are keeping all secrets from the upcoming season eight close to their chest, Sophie Turner appears to have hinted that Sansa Stark will turn her back on Jon Snow – thanks to the late, Littlefinger.

Lord Petyr Baelish was sensationally killed at the hands of Sansa and her sister Arya last season when he ever so foolishly tried to play them off each other. His plan foiled, his throat was slit and the Starks proved they are a force not to be reckoned with.

However, Sophie has revealed that Sansa will take the guidance of Littlefinger with her for the duration of the fantasy epic, which may not bode well for her brother, the Bastard of Winterfell, Jon.

Sansa’s role models are Cersei and Littlefinger – this won’t end well

‘She’s used Littlefinger for all he has,’ Sophie explained to Digital Spy. ‘As she said, “Thank you for all your lessons.” He has nothing left to give her.

‘So she is so empowered. She has a family behind her. She has Littlefinger, Cersei, Margaery, everyone’s wisdom and teachings all behind her.

‘She’s a real, try leader of Winterfell now.’

Hold on – Littlefinger and Cersei Lannister? They’re not exactly the most encouraging role models, Soph.

Sophie continued: ‘And that’s where we first see her – as a very protective, empowered lady in charge.

‘It’s the first time you ever see her like that, and it’s so amazing to see her like that – kind of owning her destiny.’

What’s more, Kit Harington recently confirmed there is ‘definite tension’ between Jon and Sansa ‘from the very first scene’.

‘She questions his decisions and command; he doesn’t listen to her,’ he told Entertainment Weekly. ‘But as far as where that goes or takes them or how dark it can get, we’ll see. It gets past sibling squabbling, it gets into two people power struggling.”

Sophie’s comments come after Game of Thrones fans thought Lena Headey may have confirmed a long-running theory that her brother Tyrion Lannister isn’t actually a Lannister at all.

Game of Thrones returns to HBO and Sky Atlantic in April 2019.
