Producers are so keen to keep the plot of Game Of Thrones season 8 under wraps that the scripts self-destruct after they’re finished being filmed.
Star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister on the HBO epic, has revealed new measures have been taken to ensure secrecy for season 8.
In an interview with Elite Daily, he said: ‘They’re very very strict. It’s reached a crazy level this year.’
Coster-Waldau went on to describe the extra precautions, detailing a very Ethan Hunt way of making sure your actors keep schtum.
‘We actually get the scripts, and then when we’ve shot the scene — and we only have it digitally — and then when you’ve done the scene, it just vanishes. It’s like Mission: Impossible. ‘This will self-destruct’.”
For Nikolaj’s sake, let’s hope the new measures work well (but not too well).
Game Of Thrones is very nearly going into post-production as more and more stars reveal they’ve filmed their final scenes on the last series.
Hannah Murray aka Gilly recently spoke about filming her last Thrones moments and it seems like she’s going to miss it a lot.
‘All I will say is I got to work with some people I hadn’t had the chance to work with before,’ she told Insider. ‘And that was really amazing.’
Meanwhile, a fan photo posted to social media sparked speculation that season 8 could feature the biggest dragon so far.
According to eagle-eyed fan site Winter is Coming, a large dragon rig has been spotted at Titanic Studios in Belfast (where the King’s Landing set is situated).
Pictures of the huge rig were uploaded by a fan to Twitter, who pointed out that the fluorescent green apparatus looks very similar to equipment used previously by Emilia Clarke – who plays dragon queen Daenerys Targaryen on the show.
It’s difficult to see too much in the snap, but it looks like this rig is considerably larger than others that have been used before.
