Game of Thrones fans don’t have long to wait before the HBO show returns for its final season.

The fantasy epic is just months away from returning and now the rumour mill is really going into overdrive.

Ahead of the launch, fans have turned their attention to Bran Stark (played by Isaac Hempstead Wright) and what his role will be in the final season.

It’s currently up in the air as to the nature of his supernatural powers but they are definitely undeniable.

The young character has the ability of Warging, which means he can slip into any time and place.

Many believe he is the Three-Eyed Raven, and as such, holds the keys to unlocking many secrets on the show.

And now, one Reddit user believes they’ve cracked what Bran’s role will be in the upcoming season.

Juligen thinks it will be Bran who finally ends the incoming threat from the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) and his Army of the Dead.

In season three, episode two, Bran is told by Jojen Reed (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) he is the only thing that matters.

Later on, in the 10th episode, the youngster is asked if he will be the one to stop the White Walkers.

The plot thickens as in episode two of season four, Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick) told Bran: “If we lose you, we lose everything.”

Then in season six, episode six, Benjen Stark (Joseph Mawle) tells Bran: “One way or another, he [the Night King] will find his way to the world of men.

“And when he does, you will be there waiting for him and you will be ready.”

Do all of these little crumbs add up to suggest there will be a big shock for the Night King in the coming episodes?

This comes as Liam Cunningham has suggested everyone will die in the Game of Thrones finale.

The actor plays Ser Davos Seaworth in the series and spoke about the ending on The Late Late Show this weekend.

When asked if Davos would survive, Liam teased: “So far, so far. That doesn’t mean anything. We’re all going to die.

“Don’t forget: ‘Valar morghulis’ – which is one of the phrases on the show which means ‘all men must die’.”

He went on to explain how the show makes “the epic seem small”.

Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic on April 14. Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.
