Game of Thrones has one more season to end its extremely complex plot.
The HBO series has been thrilling fans for years and it seems there’s plenty of twists and turns left to go.
Naturally a bloodthirsty show, many are wondering who will perish in season eight.
But it seems there’s a certain list of people who could die – and some of them may shock you.
Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington)
Game of Thrones is really great at creating lovable heroes, none more so than Jon Snow.
The beloved warrior is already the King of the North and he has his eyes on defeating the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) in a bid to save Westeros – and potentially take the Iron Throne in the meantime.
But with great ambition comes great danger.
Jon could be one of the first – and most obvious – to bite the dust in the coming season.
It’s often the good who go first in Game of Thrones and there’s none better than Jon.
Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke)
Daenerys hasn’t had the easiest of rides on Game of Thrones.
The Mother of Dragons has risked death on numerous occasions after realising her ambition to sit on the Iron Throne.
But will her dreams get her killed?
She certainly looks likely to die, as she could be a part of Jon’s unfortunate destiny.
Many believe he is Azor Ahai – The Prince That Was Promised – and as a result, it means he will definitely be killing his true love.
In order to get the Lightbringer sword necessary to kill the White Walkers, Azor Ahai must stab his lover – which is coincidentally Daenerys at the moment.
Will she die for the sake of Westeros?
Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau)
Jaime Lannister is one of the most-loved villains in Game of Thrones.
However, it is currently unknown whether he will make it through to the finale.
The noble warrior has done well to get this far, considering he has been in the wars a fair bit and lost one of his hands.
Furthermore, his sister, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), won’t be happy when she discovers he has often double-crossed her.
Will she kill her own blood to stop him from deserting?
Cersei Lannister
Cersei is certainly one of the more hated characters in the HBO series.
She has traumatised almost every character of Game of Thrones over the years and her reign of terror will surely come to an end soon.
But who will be the one to take her beloved Iron Throne away from her?
Or will she actually surprise everyone by surviving?
The Night King
Westeros is on the verge of being ravaged by White Walkers led by the evil Night King.
Surely, in order for good to triumph over evil, the villain must be killed.
Will it make for a satisfactory goodbye? Or will he team up with Cersei to create the ultimate evil team?
Dead certain…
According to SkyBet, there’s a wealth of characters who seem pretty likely to bite the dust, on top of the above.
Melisandre (Carice van Houten), Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen), The Hound (Rory McCann), Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) all have decent odds to be killed off.
But it’s the more likely characters that will have the biggest impact. Unless everyone dies.
A strong theory has been doing the rounds of late which suggests no one will be there when Game of Thrones ends.
With everyone fighting over the Iron Throne, surely there’s a good chance it could be eradicated completely.
Early on in the series, fans learned the motto “Valar Morghulis” translates as “All Men Must Die”.
Would the gritty and grisly series really miss out on the chance to get rid of everyone?
Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019. Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.
