Game of Thrones said goodbye to Hodor (played by Kristian Nairn) way back in season six.
The beloved character was responsible for keeping Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) safe while he travelled around the North.
But he unfortunately died during his duties in one of the most heartbreaking moments of the HBO series.
During The Door, Bran had a vision saying he needed to go to see the Children of the Forest.
While there, he discovered exactly how the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) was born and how, therefore, he can be killed.
But at the end of the complex episode, the group were ambushed by Wights.
Hodor leapt into action and insisted the his friends run to safety while he stood at a door holding back the zombies.
Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick) kept yelling at him to “Hold the door!” which meant they got away, but alas it was too late for the hero.
He died protecting Bran and it transpired the reason he could only say “Hodor” was because of a vision.
Viewers watched in horror as the Wights began to claw and stab at his lifeless body.
But that may not be the end of Hodor’s story as there’s a way fans could see him again.
Reddit user Bigyeezytime suggested he could have been turned into a Wight, as contamination with one does such a thing.
They wrote: “When he was killed by the wights, his body was never burned.
“Hodor has probably risen again as a Wight and we are going to see him fight against the Starks in season eight.”
Katakuri-Sama commented on the thread: “Yes we will see him as a Wight and I will cry Hodor.”
This comes as viewers may experience a seriously heartbreaking death set to rock Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) world.
It is believed his direwolf, Ghost, could be in danger.
Tired_Obsession wrote on Reddit there will be a big shock in the coming episodes.
They shared: “How much do you wanna bet when we get Jon and Ghost finally fighting together he’s going to die in battle?
“It’s such a cop out but it sounds like something they’d do at this point.”
Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic on April 14. Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.
