Theon and Yara Greyjoy had a rough time of it in season 7. They lost a battle against their crazy Uncle Euron early on in the year, whereafter Yara was taken prisoner and Theon puttered around for a few episode before finally picking himself up and setting out to save his sister in the season finale. What’s going to happen with them in season 8? We have SPOILERS. Continue reading at your own risk.

These come from reliably accurate fansite Watchers on the Wall. Per a source, there’s been filming activity of late at a production studio in Banbridge, Northern Ireland, where various scenes for the show have been filmed in the past. In this case, the production is filming on a ship set in front of a green scene, which likely means they’re filming scenes set at sea.

Okay, here’s the big news: present on this set are Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) and Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) with other actors playing Ironborn followers. Pilou Asbæk (Euron Greyjoy) was not seen.

What does this mean? That Theon and Yara will reunite sometime in season 8. Will Theon succeed in freeing Yara from Euron’s captivity, and this scene is taking place later? Or perhaps Yara escapes herself? Or maybe this scene takes place during the attempted rescue. It’s hard to sure, but that the siblings will reunite is certain.

The Greyjoy family drama has been a consistently solid, if consistently underplayed, aspect of the series. Whatever happens with these long-suffering siblings, let’s hope season 8 brings their story to a satisfying end.
