The eighth season of Game of Thrones will see Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) will face the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) and his army of the dead.
They believe Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) is on her way to help them defend Westeros.
However, the season seven finale revealed she has no intention of helping which led to Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) heading north alone.
Now, fans are certain they’ve worked out why it’s so important he helps Jon and Daenerys.
Many have taken to Twitter to discuss the possibility of Jaime killing the Night King.
As he is also known as the Kingslayer for murdering Aegon Targaryen, could he live up to his name in the final series?
“What if jaime aka kingslayer is gonna be the one to kill the night king. Thus, giving ‘kingslayer’ more depth,” one fan mused.
Another added: “I think it’s pretty obvious that Jaime Lannister will be the character that kills the night king.”
A third shared: “Something about Jamie that I am sure will happen in the last season: Jamie will kill the Night King using the scorpion+valyrian steel arrow which will be reforged from his sword by Gendry.
“Jamie is known in the history book as the Kingslayer. (sic)”
