Game of Thrones season eight is just weeks away and fans are more than ready to begin watching.
This week saw the first full-length trailer being released for the final season, sparking many rumours and a lot of speculation about what is to come.
The trailer showcased a number of intriguing scenes including fan-favourites such as Daenerys Targaryen (played by Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington).
And one of their scenes may even be showing off what is to come in the impending war.
The duo can be seen riding on horseback in the middle of their enormous army.
Jon and Daenerys were last seen heading to Winterfell, which, as viewers know, is the first stop on the White Walkers’ journey to the southern lands.
Jon and Daenerys may be converging their army to the city to hold off the hordes of undead in coming episodes.
However it doesn’t look like they are the only people organising their armies.
One shot in the trailer shows what looks like Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) sailing the seas with a brand new gold cloak army.
Fans will recognise the gold cloaks are the armed forces reserved to protect the Queen in King’s Landing.
Cersei may have placed the gold cloaks on the Greyjoy’s ship to catch Jon off guard.
This is further proof Euron is working with Cersei in secret, and will no doubt spark a furious battle between those loyal to the crown, and those following Jon and Daenerys.
These two armies may collide in Winterfell as Cersei attempts to reclaim control of the north just before the Night King arrives.
But Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) may throw a spanner in the works, however, as he was last seen finishing his relationship with his sister, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).
This stemmed from her admission she would no longer work with Jon and Daenerys in fighting the white walkers.
In the trailer Jaime can be seen telling someone: “I promised to fight for the living.”
Could this piece of dialogue be a huge clue towards Jaime’s potential allegiance change in the upcoming episodes?
And if so, how will she react to this brutal betrayal from her twin brother?
Jaime and Cersei have been destined to clash for a number of seasons, but this final season could be their time to finish what they started.
But which of them will survive in the last moments of the season?
Game of Thrones season 8 premieres on HBO in the USA on Sunday, April 14, and on Sky Atlantic in the UK on Monday, April 15.
