Game of Thrones season eight will be the show’s last season, and it should reveal who will end up sitting on the Iron Throne.

Fans are now coming up with their own theories and suggesting who will end up ruling Westeros.

However, one of the names in the mix might surprise quite a few viewers, as Petyr Baelish (played by Aidan Gillan) has been revealed as one of the favourites to end up sitting up on the iconic throne.

According to Visme, a data visualisation tool, Littefinger is the seventh favourite to end up as ruler of Westeros.

Fans of the show might be somewhat surprised to see his name involved since he was supposedly killed off in season seven.

However, there has been a theory suggesting that he faked his own death.

He supposedly managed to pull this off by employing the services of The Faceless Men.

This would be very much in keeping with his reputation on the show of being a very cunning and ruthless individual.

Fans saw his death as being a bit out of character since he ended up pleading for his life.

This was something he had never done before, and he’s stared death in the face before.

According to Visme, there’s a 6.7 per cent chance that he’ll end up on the throne, and that’s the same as Arya Stark (Maisie Williams).

Could this mean that Littlefinger will end up coming back from the dead and might even want to seek revenge?

He certainly has a reason to want to see Arya dead who was the one who slit his throat.

Littlefinger is a character who always has something up his sleeve, and his death was seen as an anticlimax because he seemingly didn’t see it coming.

Someone of his cunning and intellect would have realised that he was in trouble, yet he didn’t really make a strong play against the sisters.

The fact that he’s the seventh favourite to end up on the throne according to Visme’s data suggests that he’s still out there.

Littlefinger’s return would certainly be welcomed by the show’s fans, many of which were disappointed by his exit.

Meanwhile, Tyrion Lannister actor Peter Dinklage recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his upcoming scenes, and how he feels about the arrival of Jon.

During the interview, Peter confirmed that Tyrion “loves” Daenerys, and is definitely a little jealous of Jon’s new relationship with the dragon queen.

On the blossoming relationship Peter announced: “It’s complicated,” and went on to say: “A lot of the time with Tyrion, it’s professional and personal.

“Obviously, he has feelings for Daenerys. He loves her – or thinks he does. She’s awe-inspiring. He’s questioning that because he doesn’t have a good track record for falling in love. There’s jealousy wrapped up in there.”

Game of Thrones season 8 premieres on April 14 on HBO and Sky Atlantic and on NOW TV on April 15.
