Game of Thrones season eight is getting close with every passing second and fans cannot wait to see how it will all end.
The final season promises to be bigger and better than ever before, but fans are still re-watching previous seasons in the hope of finding some nugget on information which could hint at what’s to come.
One fan has spotted something rather interesting.
They’ve unearthed a link between Robb Stark (played by Richard Madden) and Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson) which hadn’t been spotted until now.
Reddit user PolskiPunisher wrote: “Joffrey cut the head off of Ned Stark thus dividing his country between the Starks and the Lannisters, and causing all-out civil war.”
They continued: “Robb did the same thing when he beheaded Lord Karstark, losing half his army for it, and making himself vulnerable.
“They both ultimately pay for it with their lives,” the Reddit user finished.
This post got quite a few comments on Reddit, and the vast majority of them agreed with this observation.
One user wrote: “Mind blown,” while another added: “Correct! I’ve always regarded this as Robb’s biggest mistake”.
That said, some people did disagree with the original poster, and one even suggests what Robb’s biggest mistake really was.
“Tom [Brooke], who actually plays the guy that stabs my wife in the stomach there, also played the ex-soldier in Bodyguard who tried to kill the Home Secretary,” he revealed.
Madden explained the last time he watched the traumatic scenes he cried.
He didn’t cry this time but it’s clear it was a very emotional watch for him.
The scene has gone down as one of the very best in television history.
Game of Thrones season eight returns Spring 2019, and the prequel is expected to debut a year later in 2020.
