A new Game Of Thrones trailer has marked potential doom for the cast of characters, but what does the Aftermath teaser actually show?
The fantasy drama phenomena is set to return for its final season in mere weeks, answering who will emerge victorious between the White Walker army, Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and Cersei Lannister.
The new trailer is based around an eerie, abandoned Winterfell (as made clear by the flying Stark banner at the outset) and shows a number of carefully placed items littered around.
So what are all the items on display? Here’s a rundown.
Dragonglass arrow
Along with Valyrian steel, dragonglass is one of the two known substances capable of killing White Walkers. It’s forged into daggers, blades and arrowheads.
Tyrion Lannister’s pin
Tyrion’s Hand Of The Queen pin was given to him by Daenerys Targaryen after he found his way to Mereen and helped rule the city.
Arya Stark’s Needle sword
This thin sword has become Arya’s signature weapon, and was given to her by Jon Snow and crafted by blacksmith Mikken in Winterfell.
Lyanna Stark’s crypt feather
King Robert Baratheon placed a feather on Lyanna Stark’s crypt way back in the first ever episode. It was last seen when Sansa Stark picked it up when visiting her aunt’s statue.
It’s also featured in previous teasers, potentially alluding to the unravelling of Jon Snow’s true parentage.
Bran Stark’s wheelchair
Bran has been left in a wheelchair after being pushed by Jaime Lannister out a window, so could this broken chair represent his potential demise?
Jaime Lannister’s hand
Jaime has been left with a prosthetic gold hand since season four after having it sliced off, which was fitted onto him by Qyburn.
Daenerys Targaryen’s dragon chain
Daenerys was seen wearing this body chain throughout the seventh season, coming to show her strength and dominance.
Jon Snow’s Longclaw sword
This Valyrian steel sword was the ancestral weapon of House Mormont for five centuries, and was handed to Jon Snow by Jeor Mormont as a reward for saving his life.
While the trailer could merely be a hype generator for the final season, considering HBO know fans will dissect every morsel of information – it’s hard not to believe there’s some clues tucked away on what to expect.
Judging by the Aftermath teaser, all signs are pointing towards a potentially bleak end for almost all the main players. Either way, we only have a few weeks to find out.
