We’ve got what feels like a lifetime until Game of Thrones returns, but for its cast the fantasy epic is a distant memory.
Maisie Williams grew up before our eyes playing Arya Stark, landing the part when she was just 12-years-old and against all odds lasting as one of the only residents of Westeros still standing in season eight.
However, as we patiently wait for Game of Thrones’ overdue final chapter, Maisie has given us a tiny insight into her final days as the little rascal, and revealed that in this cycle, more than any other, there’s a lot on Arya’s plate.
‘I ended on the perfect scene,’ she told Guardian. ‘I was alone – shocker! Arya’s always bloody alone.’
Though, she was ready to leave her life in the Seven Kingdoms behind.
‘I got to the end and I didn’t want more. I had exhausted every possible piece of Arya. And this season was quite big for me. I had a lot more to do. Mainly because there’s just less characters now, so everyone’s got more to do.’
But Maisie isn’t the only Game of Thrones star ready to move on as Kit Harington agreed he is done with Jon Snow.
‘I have no desire to go back and do any more of that show… I have such a fond place in my heart for that show,’ the 31-year-old told audience at Esquire Townhouse last weekend.
‘For a good months afterwards I just burst into tears randomly. I can’t think of a better job to have in your 20s than to play Jon Snow.’
Kit also revealed that he’s yet to tell his own wife, Rose Leslie, who starred as Jon’s lover Ygritte in Game of Thrones, how the series ends.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2018.
