Yara Greyjoy (played by Gemma Whelan) was last seen as a captive for her uncle Euron (Pilou Asbæk) but it is not known as to whether he will kill her before the popular HBO series returns.
Now, actress Gemma who stars as the feisty Iron-born warrior has addressed rumours that her character will not survive following her pregnancy announcement.
“I have been very lucky with my timing I think,” she told Raising Films, hinting that Yara would return to fight another day.
“Game of Thrones had wrapped for season seven before I was pregnant and if I’m in the next series the baby will be here already so no giant belly for Yara!”
Gemma’s admission comes after Maisie Williams dropped a “troubling” hint about her character Arya Stark.
The star suggested that the fearless youngster could be killed off in the concluding chapter as she described her character as hot-headed and someone who jumps to conclusions.
“You see that a lot this season,” the 20-year-old teased. “She gets herself into trouble a few times.”
However, Maisie admitted she would like to see her character settle down, telling Highsnobiety magazine: “I just want her to be happy and be safe and for someone to look out for her.
“She’s become so independent, and she’s got quite a hard-a** attitude. I think it’d be nice to have peace of mind that she’s being protected by an elder. Not sure who that would be.”
“She’s had it rough, and it’d be nice for her to have a nice hunk,” she continued.
Game of Thrones season 8 is expected to return in late 2018/early 2019.
