In another sign that the end is nigh, Game of Thrones fansite Watchers on the Wall reports that the super-official Game of Thrones series wrap party is set to down this Saturday, June 30 in Belfast.
We say “super-official” because we thought we were looking at the series wrap party a few weeks back. Doesn’t this look like a wrap party to you?
At the new party, Watchers reports that “all former cast members” will be included, which is a big claim. Olenna Tyrell playing beer pong with Jojen Reed? Oberyn Martell making out with Hodor? Jason Momoa had best be there; guy’s a hit at these things. And of course, we’re looking forward to seeing what Kit Harington looks like shorn of his trademark locks, assuming he’s chopped them off by then. (He still had them as of his wedding to Rose Leslie over the weekend.) Or maybe they’ll recreate Jon’s death scene and give him a haircut at the party itself. Whatever happens, bring on the photos.
Anyway, filming is still going on, and will through at least early July, but this party is a signal that the bulk of shooting is done, which means it’s time for post-production to start in earnest. We’re one step closer to having no more Game of Thrones in our lives; thank goodness for the prequel series.
