Game of Thrones characters are no stranger to politics, but the show’s stars aren’t shy about them, either. Case in point: this past weekend, Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) took to the picket lines to protest Brexit, the adorably diminutive name commenters have given to Britain’s decision to withdraw from the EU:
Like Cersei, Headey clearly has opinions about politics. But not everyone is on board with her stances. Headey had a few words for those people:
Meanwhile, Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were honored earlier this week by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Per Indie Wire, the pair are receiving the 2019 International Emmy Founders Award for their work on Game of Thrones. “The International Academy does us all a great honor,” Benioff and Weiss said in a statement. “From cast to crew to locations, the ‘Game of Thrones’ effort was truly international, and this award rightly belongs to all the people who worked so hard for so many years to bring the show to life.”
Something tells me this is the first of many Emmys these two are going to receive. I don’t know if anyone else should even bother showing up to the 2019 ceremony.
Next, Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) strutted her stuff for Super Magazine, a publication I’ve never heard of, but who cares, because she’s looking good.
As long as we’re on this topic, there’s been quite a lot in the way of glamorous Game of Thrones photoshoots lately. Tis the season (8).
