Sophie Turner has addressed whether she’d return to Game Of Thrones (Picture: Rex Features)

While we’re still not quite out of denial Game Of Thrones as we know it is done forever, Sophie Turner (who played Sansa Stark) has addressed the chances of her returning to the fantasy universe.

Even though the original series is done and dusted and Winterfell has been returned to its former glory, there are prequels to be had now with more stories from the GOT universe and the mind of George RR Martin on its way to our screens.

But will Sophie fly the flag for the Starks in any way?

Well, it’s not looking promising – but never say never, right?

The Queen Of The North was asked about the chances of her donning that red wig again when attending the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night, as she joined her castmates for the last time to celebrate the show.

‘I would give anything to go back to what we had, but it wouldn’t be the same,’ the actor told Variety. ‘It would be different, different people running it.’

She went on emphatically: ‘I don’t want to be a part of it.

‘Unless they give me the big bucks I’m not doing it!’

Well, seeing as the main cast were being paid the big bucks for the OG run (with reports suggesting Sophie landed $150,000 [£120k] per episode), we hazard a guess her salary expectations are quite high for any return to Westeros.

Speaking about her final day on set, Sophie admitted it was her last time as Sansa that really showed her how much she appreciated the role.

‘I walked onto the set of Winterfell in my costume for the last time. And I was looking around and I just welled up. I was like “This is amazing how empowered I feel to be on this set”,’ she continued.

‘That was the day I really appreciated but it was also the day that I broke down and didn’t get out of bed for the next three days.

‘Everyone cried. And everyone cried when other people wrapped as well. The whole season everyone was just blubbing.’

Before the show even ended there were prequels announced to keep the story going on our tellies, however following huge cast announcements and pictures from the flashy set in action, the Game of Thrones prequel penned by Jonathan Ross’ wife Jane Goldman was suddenly cancelled with no clear explanation.

Not long after, HBO announced they were charging ahead with another spin-off following the traces of the Targaryens instead, House Of The Dragon.

Game of Thrones seasons one to eight are available to stream on NOW TV.
