Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner is one of the names being teased to play Boy George in an upcoming biopic.
Last month, it was confirmed that a film about the life and career of the English singer and songwriter is in the works, and Boy George recently shared that he wants Turner to play his younger self in the movie.
Speaking on Australian radio show Fitzy and Wippa, the musician said: “There’s been some really interesting suggestions. One of the most interesting suggestions was Sophie Turner.
“[People will say] ‘She can’t play you, she’s a woman’, you know,” he continued. “But when I was 17, I would have loved to have been her.”
And, after getting the endorsement from Boy George himself, Turner shared her own thoughts about the exciting possibility, revealing that she’s “so down” to star in the biopic.
Meanwhile, after completing work on the final series of Game of Thrones, Turner opened up about taking a break from acting to focus on her mental health.
“I’ve suffered with my depression for five or six years now,” she said on the Phil in the Blanks podcast. “The biggest challenge for me is getting out of bed and getting out of the house. Learning to love yourself is the biggest challenge.”

The actress has also said that her relationship with husband Joe Jonas ‘saved her life’ during her struggles with her mental health, explaining that she was “very mentally unwell” when they first met.
“He was like, ‘I can’t be with you until you love yourself, I can’t see you love me more than you love yourself’,” she told The Sunday Times.
“That was something, him doing that. I think he kind of saved my life, in a way.”
