Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner would do spin-off on one condition

It looks like Sophie Turner won’t be returning to the Game of Thrones universe any time soon.

When asked on the SAG Awards silver carpet if she would reprise her role as Sansa Stark for one of the various spin-off shows currently in development at HBO, the actress was hesitant, joking that she’d only do it on one condition.

“I would give anything to go back to what we had, but it wouldn’t be the same,” she told Variety. “It would be different, different people running it. I don’t want to be a part of it. Unless they give me the big bucks, I’m not doing it!”

Of course, of all the Game of Thrones spin-offs currently in development, none of them are even set in the same time period as the main series, so if she were to return as Sansa, a whole new series would have to be planned.

Speaking last year, Sophie was similarly reluctant to commit to any spin-off – even if it was based solely on Sansa.

“It’s time for me to say goodbye,” the actress said. “She’s ended up in a place that I’m so happy with.

“I don’t know. It would be different if someone actually came and said, ‘We want to do a Sansa spin-off show’, but I’m pretty sure I’d say no.

“I’m sure if she carried on and did a spin-off show, it would just be downhill from there. She’d have to go through some other terrible traumas or something, and I don’t want to do that.”

Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are now available on DVD and Blu-ray.
