Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon has added two fresh faces to its ensemble cast.

Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Rhys Ifans (Harry Potter), Paddy Considine (Hot Fuzz), Eva Best (Nurse Jackie) and Sonoya Mizuno (Devs) are just some of the big players already involved, and now The Wrap reports that Emily Carey and Milly Alcock have joined in the fantastical fun.

Carey plays a young version of Alicent Hightower, while Alcock is young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen.

According to a character description, Alicent is the daughter of the Hand of the King, Otto Hightower (Ifans), and the “most comely woman in the Seven Kingdoms.

“She was raised in the Red Keep, close to the king and his innermost circle; she possesses both a courtly grace and a keen political acumen.”

Meanwhile, Rhaenyra is the king’s first-born – a pure Valyrian dragonrider who, according to her character description, “many would say was born with everything… but she was not born a man”.
