After the end of “Game of Thrones,” HBO wanted to do a spin-off. There were five in stages of production, and one of them was set thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, and Naomi Watts was supposed to star in it. But it was canceled right before it started.
Who was supposed to star in the series?
The network stated in 2019 that, after careful consideration, they have decided not to continue with the series. That’s when we also heard that, besides Watts, Miranda Richardson, and Josh Whitehouse, were supposed to star in the series.
Why did they cancel it?
HBO didn’t talk about any other reason for the cancellation, but according to some sources, the network was not really pleased with the result. This decision was talked after post-production … and rumors about issues which took place during filming in Northern Ireland.” HBO was not happy with the final cut of the pilot, and they asked for changes in edits before they canceled the entire thing. This decision was taken before the series was announced to the public.
This is the synopsis for the series
“Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. From the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend, only one thing is for sure: It’s not the story we think we know.”
