Game Of Thrones star Richard Dormer appears to have implied that spoilers from the show might be leaked on purpose – let that sink in for a moment.

The 49-year-old actor, who plays Beric Dondarrion in the HBO television series, dropped the bombshell during an interview on Sky News where he was probed for little teasers on what the final season eight could bring.

Last year, episode six of the seventh season was leaked online by HBO Spain, according to reports, on top of a script appearing online and episode four being obtained by hackers, all before their official transmission dates. Whether or not Richard was referring to these events exactly, is unclear.

When asked whether it’s annoying when spoilers leak online, Richard let loose on some major insights, replying: ‘Yes, it is.

‘It’s good for the show, because it gets people talking and sometimes I suppose they even leak stuff on purpose, I don’t know. It’s all good for the show, it’s great.’

He added: ‘We find it kind of annoying because we want the fans to see it on screen and go “Oh my God, I can’t believe it.”

‘You don’t want it to be spoiled, you want it to be a piece of entertainment that is constantly keeping you on the edge of your seat.’

Back in August 2017, four people were arrested in India over the fourth episode leak, while HBO hackers threatened to ‘leak Game Of Thrones’ season 7 finale.’

Richard stayed tight-lipped on any upcoming storylines, but if last year’s track record is anything to go by, we’ll be getting a glimpse of what’s to come sooner rather than later.

Game of Thrones returns to Sky Atlantic and HBO in April 2019.
