‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Iain Glen Claims HBO Is ‘Absolutely Paranoid’ About Season 8 Leaks

HBO has taken security to a whole new level ahead of the Season 8 premiere of Game of Thrones. Between shooting fake scenes to battling drones in the sky, HBO spared no expense keeping spoilers to a minimum. So far, their tactics have paid off.

In a recent interview, Iain Glen, who plays Jorah Mormont, opened up about the tight security on set and revealed that producers were super paranoid about leaks.

“They’re absolutely paranoid now about anyone finding out anything about the series and spoiling it,” Glen shared.

According to Winter Is Coming, Glen revealed that none of the actors were given paper scripts ahead of their scenes. Instead, all of the scripts were made accessible through iPads, and each one had a different password.

The actor admitted that going through so many levels of security was hard on the actors, but fortunately they found a happy medium by the time they reached the set.

Despite their level of paranoia, a few spoilers slipped through the cracks. After all, concealing massive outdoor sets is not easy.

Even still, there have been considerably fewer leaks in Season 8 than there were in Season 7, so the increased security has definitely been worth it.

Glen, meanwhile, also revealed that Season 8 was the first time that the cast read through the entire script in one day. By the end of the reading session, Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, was in tears.

But Harington was not the only one who got emotional. In fact, Glen claims that a lot of the cast cried when they read the final scenes, especially considering how long they have all worked together.

Unfortunately, Glen did not dish any spoilers on the upcoming season. He did, however, say that fans will be impressed with it and praised the writers for being able to pull everything together.

Based on everything that has been released so far, it is safe to say that most fans will shed a few tears when Game of Thrones returns to HBO this spring.
