In this day and age of internet-fueled opinions and views, one isn’t really sure about what to believe or consider true. Any which way, the urge to see what’s going on in the world makes us roam the web and we end up discussing what’s on it. Rumors frequently float the internet in the form of news, some exciting, some not so much. But when it’s about Game of Thrones, we watch keenly. The latest in the mill suggests that Marvel-Sony could be looking at Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo) as a potential villain for the third film in the current Spider-Man franchise, starring Tom Holland. There are also a bunch of other details, including the film’s title. Read on!
The rumor comes from 4Chan, an internet forum popular for its anonymity, hoaxes, memes, and some outrageous content. Thus, the general advice is to be wary of its authenticity. The news has revealed the title of the next Spider-Man film, that’s to follow Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Spider-Man: Far From Home to be Spider-Man: Home Run. This feels in line with the ‘Home’ theme of Spiderman’s present story. Along with this, it also says that the next villains to haunt Peter Parker after Mysterio (in Far From Home) would be Scorpion and Kraven the Hunter. After his setup as Mac Gargan in Homecoming, Michael Mando will likely play Scorpion in the third film as he teased in his recent Instagram post.
Then, what about Kraven the Hunter? The names offered are Jason Momoa and Henry Cavill. The makers are apparently looking at these two actors for Kraven’s role. However, at the moment, both of them are a part of the DC Extended Universe as Aquaman and Superman. With Aquaman 2 on board, it might seem difficult for Jason to join Marvel’s Cinematic Universe (MCU). But you never know, perhaps they could pull off this crazy swing! There are even talks of a separate solo film being developed for Kraven in Sony’s Marvel Universe.
Henry Cavill, on the other hand, could well be in the running. Since his future as Superman is not certain right now, there’s a good chance he can jump onto Marvel’s deck. He was even rumored to play Wolverine in the coming films of MCU.

The reunion of Marvel and Sony to make the third film together has kept the comic book hero in the MCU. With Sony’s own universe of Marvel characters expanding, we could see some new mix of characters and storylines, including The Sinister Six, Morbius, and Venom joining Spider-Man’s world. Spider-Man: “Home Run” is due for release on July 16, 2021.
All said and done, there are absolutely no official sources to quote with this rumor. So, it’s all just airy-speculation at this point. We hope, though, some of it comes true. Already, a host of Game of Thrones actors have worked/are working with Marvel, including Kit Harington, Richard Madden, Peter Dinklage, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams. Emilia Clarke recently said she wants to do something like The Avengers. And now, this rumor about Jason Momoa. Well, we can only wait to see if Marvel houses the other two GoT powerhouses too.
