The fight against Coronavirus and its disease COVID-19 has become the biggest priority all over the world. And the soldiers who are combating the illness head-on are our public health workers and officials. However, the chink in their armor is proving to be a lack of crucial resources; such as PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and ventilators. PPE is a protective gear worn to protect the whole body from health hazards. Almost every country is facing this shortage and many private and independent firms have come forward to aid the government in this. The spent-father of Game of Thrones star Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) owns a printing company that’s helping the health workers by providing them PPE. Isaac informed us about this on his Instagram page and urged everyone to be ready to help as and when it’s required.

Wright shared photos of himself on Instagram, wearing a mask and showing the safety gear meant for the face. The gear that the actor wore over his mask to cover his entire face had his name written on it; thus, signaling that every health worker can write their names on the top of their gear. “My step-dad’s printing company @speedscreen_ is currently producing and donating PPE for key health workers,” Isaac wrote. The company is also taking people’s help in this effort via the online fundraising platform, JustGiving. To remind that more help would be needed in the future to meet the rising demand of PPE, Isaac further wrote, “They have reached their target on JustGiving but please keep an eye on the page as they may need more funds to cover materials as more are needed! Link is in bio.”

It’s a wonderful gesture during this time of crisis. Another GoT star, Emilia Clarke had also reached out to people on Instagram recently. She asked her fans to donate to her charity, SameYou’s COVID-19 fund. As a reward, she had offered a virtual dinner to twelve lucky donors. As you might recall, Emilia was starring in the West End play, The Seagull with Game of Thrones co-star Indira Varma. After Indira tested positive for COVID-19, it raised concerns over possible infection for Emilia Clarke and other performers as well. Indira was the second GoT actor to test positive for the virus, after Kristofer Hivju.

So, it looks like the Game of Thrones cast is keeping its eyes open for the fast-coming threats of this global pandemic. We have already seen Sophie Turner spreading awareness on her social media; she warned people of the deadly effects of not practicing social distancing. Hence, whether it’s the King of the Six Kingdoms or the Queen in the North, the realm comes first, always! Well, we praise their valiant deeds.

Coronavirus has now infected close to 1.8 million people globally, causing over 100,000 deaths. If you want to help your government in their efforts of containing COVID-19 and helping those who are worst-hit by its side-effects, you can donate to your respective government relief funds; or provide resources such as PPE, if possible. And if not, you can work from home and practice social distancing. Every bit of your help counts.
