LIAM Cunningham has hinted that his popular Game of Thrones character Davos Seaworth will die in the final series of the hit show.

The Dublin actor, 57, was on Ryan Tubridy’s couch on tonight’s Late Late Show and teased viewers about his character’s fate in season 8.

Poking fun at Cunningham, Tubridy said: “Congratulations for staying in the picture because there’s death all around you.”

Cunningham sharply replied: “So far, so far. That doesn’t mean anything. We’re all going to die. Don’t forget ‘valar morghulis’ which is one of the phrases on the show which means ‘all men must die.'”

Offering insight into what fans of the HBO show can expect from its final season – which premieres on April 14 –  Cunningham said “it’ll make epic seem small.”

He told Ryan: “We have normally six months to shoot ten episodes and on the six episodes that we have done for the last season has taken us nearly a year.

“So for the budget its scale is absolutely extraordinary. I can also repeat what the head of HBO said. He’s seen the six episodes twice and said it’s like watching six movies.

“It’ll be a different style, it’ll make epic seem small, this season.”

And despite fans disappointment that the record-breaking series will finally end after eight years on screens across the globe, Cunningham insisted that the show has to have a “lifespan.”

He said: “One of the reasons this show isn’t going to be dragged out like other shows is because it’s incredibly difficult, you need the perfect storm.

“Our costume people are extraordinary, our props people are extraordinary, the camera crew are the best I’ve ever worked with and it was cast beautifully.

“The quality of the writing, you can’t make that a thing that just continues, it has to have a lifespan.”

Meanwhile, Sophie Turner has revealed the “disgusting” rules Game of Thrones bosses enforced to ensure her character’s look was authentic – including banning her from washing her hair.

The actress – who plays Sansa Stark in the epic HBO show – also commented on fan theories that the state of the character’s hair can be a hint of her fate.

And a new teaser clip for season 8 has fans predicting a grisly end for the Stark girls.

The Starks make their way through the eerie crypt of Winterfell where their ancestors are buried in the teaser clip that has already sparked multiple fan theories about the final season of the fantasy epic.
