Maisie Williams is worlds away from her Game Of Thrones character Arya Stark on the set of Danny Boyle’s new TV drama about the Sex Pistols.
The 23-year-old actress went braless underneath a transparent yellow PVC coat and sported black suspenders, pants and stockings, and white heeled boots as she transformed expertly into the punk model Pamela Rooke, also known as Jordan.
Spotted filming in St John’s Wood in northwest London for the first time, Maisie also rocked a striking platinum blonde bouffant hairdo with dark raccoon-like winged eyeliner.
Maisie was seen fiddling with a lock as she stood in front of a mock-up of Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren’s iconic punk boutique Sex.
She was also seen keeping warm with a huge black coat and hot water bottle in-between takes.
Maisie is bringing to life Pamela, an English model and actress noted for her work with Westwood and the Sex boutique in the Kings Road area of London in the mid-1970s.
She also attended many of the early Sex Pistols performances.
The upcoming Sex Pistols series, titled Pistol, is based on the memoir of the band’s bassist Steve Jones.
The six-part series follows the rock band – which consisted of Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Glen Matlock, Paul Cook and Sid Vicious – and their rise to fame in the 70s.
1917 actor Anson Boon has been cast as Johnny Rotten, while Enola Holmes star Louis Partridge will portray bassist Sid Vicious and Jacob Slater will star as drummer Paul Cook.
Sydney Chandler will become Pretenders star Chrissie Hynde, who had an affair with Steve at the height of the Sex Pistols’ fame.
Meanwhile, The Witcher’s Emma Appleton will play Nancy Spungen, the American girlfriend of Sid, who died in mysterious circumstances in October 1978.
‘Imagine breaking into the world of The Crown and Downton Abbey with your mates and screaming your songs and your fury at all they represent,’ Danny said in the series announcement.
‘This is the moment that British society and culture changed forever. It is the detonation point for British street culture, where ordinary young people had the stage and vented their fury and their fashion and everyone had to watch and listen and everyone feared them or followed them.’
He added: ‘The Sex Pistols. At its centre was a young, charming, illiterate kleptomaniac – a hero for the times – Steve Jones, who became, in his own words, the 94th greatest guitarist of all time. This is how he got there.’
A number of biopics are currently in the works and will sweep both the big and small screens.
Lady Gaga is currently filming for the upcoming drama House of Gucci, which tells the true story of how Patrizia Reggiani plotted to kill her husband Maurizio Gucci.
Meanwhile, Kristen Stewart is portraying Princess Diana for the upcoming film Spencer, which focuses on one weekend in the life of Princess Di in 1991, as she spends the Christmas holiday with the Royal family at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, and decides to leave her marriage to Prince Charles.
Baz Luhrmann is also directing an upcoming biographical drama film about Elvis Presley.
