Maisie Williams has landed a new role in Sky original comedy Two Weeks To Live following her breakout performance on Game Of Thrones.
The new six-part series, written by Cheat creator Gaby Hull, is described as a ‘comic tale of love and revenge born from a seemingly harmless prank that goes terribly wrong’.
According to a plot summary, the series follows misfit Kim Noakes (Maisie Williams), whose father died when she was a young girl. Following his death, her mother ‘whisked her away to a remote rural life of seclusion and bizarre survival techniques.’
Now all grown up, Kim heads out into the real world for the first time to fulfill a secret mission in her father’s memory.
The description adds: ‘Meanwhile, socially awkward Nicky isn’t good at impressing girls, and when Kim walks into his and brother Dave’s local pub, it sets in motion a chaotic series of events that puts all their lives in danger.
‘Who would have thought a few drinks and an ill-judged prank could go so violently wrong?’
Speaking about joining the series, Maisie said: ‘Looking forward to getting into something new, I think Two Weeks To Live has really great potential and I want to make something incredible with this wonderful team.’
Jon Mountague, director of comedy at Sky, said: ‘With Maisie Williams leading the front, Two Weeks To Live is to die for. Bold, British and very, very original, we can’t wait to wow audiences with even more great comedy.’
The show is set to begin filming later this year, and will air on Sky One and Now TV in the UK and Ireland next year.
This isn’t the only role Maisie has in the pipeline following Game Of Thrones, with the actress starring in X-Men flick The New Mutants and 1990s-set thriller The Owners too.
