Game of Thrones stars are people, too. They live, they laugh, they love, they sign extremely lucrative deals with production companies…they’re just like us. Take Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell). Per The Hollywood Reporter, she’s signed a multiyear first-look deal with distributor Fremantle to develop drama series. “Natalie is a true talent both as an actress and producer,” said Fremantle executive VP and creative director for global drama Christian Vesper. “Her great ambition and taste for compelling entertaining projects is a perfect mix to add to the Fremantle family.”
Working with Fremantle, Dormer previously produced and starred in an adaptation of Picnic at Hanging Rock, Joan Lindsay’s classic novel. She’s developing a series about the life of Vivien Leigh, who famously played Scarlett O’Hara in Gone With the Wind. Dormer may not have gotten to be Queen of Westeros, but we guess ruling Hollywood will do.
Moving on, Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) is playing a villain named Big Mama in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Mama, a spider creature that can disguise herself as a human, shows up in the episode “Bug Busters.” Watch this clip and I think you’ll agree this is the part Headey was born to play:
Onward: Richard Madden (Robb Stark) recently answered some fun questions for IMDb…’s YouTube Channel, all about his fellow Game of Thrones cast members.
The takeaways:
- Madden would pick Lena Headey (Cersei) to star opposite him in a comedy. I did not see that coming.
- He’d go to his on-screen mother Michelle Fairley (Catelyn) for romantic advice. Dawwww.
- Madden would call Kit Harington (Jon Snow) if he needed a couch to crash on.
- Finally, Liam Cunningham (Davos) is the only Game of Thrones cast member who could hold his own against Madde in a drinking competition. I’d pay to see that.
Also, Madden sure is Scottish, huh?
Finally, we bring you the latest in Game of Thrones stars acting goofy on Instagram, starting with Pilou Asbæk (Euron Greyjoy) caught in two compromising positions:
Carice van Houten (Melisandre) also gets in on the Instagram fun with a picture of herself in her Melisandre getup:
Is it a selfie from the set of season 8? The world may never know.
