Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is heading back to the small screen for the first time since the HBO series ended in 2019.

He will be starring in the series adaptation of the 2020 Christina Clancy novel The Second Home, according to Variety.

No network or writer is currently attached to the series, but Coster-Waldau will also be executive producing.

The novel follows the Gordon and Shaw families following a fateful summer on Cape Cod. The story explores how a devastating secret can derail young love and tear apart families.

Years later, the siblings from one of the families come together to decide the fate of the family beach house and try and mend relationships by hashing out exactly what happened all those years ago on Cape Cod.

The actor famously played Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones, which happened to have aired its first episode 10 years ago this month, and so there is to be a month-long celebration to commemorate a decade of the series.
