Game of Thrones spoilers follow.

Game of Thrones star Sean Bean has shared an unusual response to the ending of the iconic show.

He played the unforgettable role of Eddard ‘Ned’ Stark in the drama series a decade ago back in 2011. Stark’s execution and the discovery of the illegitimacy of Cersei Lannister’s children created a massive twist – it was the catalyst for the War of the Five Kings.

Speaking to The Times, Bean had an interesting reaction when asked about the ending of Game of Thrones.

When asked if the Starks’ internalised kingdom withdrawing from the rest of the continent was similar to Brexit, Bean responded and admitted that he didn’t keep up with the show after his character Stark was killed off.

He simply said “No. What happened?” when asked if he had seen the last episode. The reporter asking the question was concerned as that they didn’t want to give away any spoilers just in case Bean wanted to watch Game of Thrones in its entirety at some point.

“I’ll have forgotten by then, go on,” Bean insisted.

The Game of Thrones ending was then explained to him, detailing how Stark’s son became king of Westeros and how his daughter went on to become queen of the North.

Wanting more details, Bean said: “So did Winterfell stay separate? Oh, good for them.”

The Game of Thrones franchise has a number of prequels in the works – House of the Dragon is currently in production while 10,000 Ships has just been confirmed.

Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray. Spin-off House of the Dragon is now filming.
